How Long Does It Take to Make a Custom Wedding Dress?

One of the first questions every bride asks us is: how long does it take to make a custom wedding dress? Because every Cindis Bridal Accessories gown is handmade to order — never pulled from a warehouse shelf — the timeline matters. Here is exactly how it works, and how to plan yours.

The short answer

Most of our handmade wedding dresses take about 12 to 15 business days to make, depending on the design. A classic satin ballgown is usually at the faster end; an all-over lace mermaid gown with hand-finished details takes longer. Accessories such as veils, bouquets and hair pieces are handmade to order too, and are usually ready sooner than a full gown. Standard shipping is added after your dress is finished and quality-checked — it takes about 6 to 10 business days and is free, so most dresses arrive roughly 3 to 5 weeks after you order.

What happens during those weeks?

Week 1 — pattern and cutting. Your dress starts from your size or your own measurements (see our Size Guide for how to measure at home). The pattern is prepared and the fabrics — satin, lace, tulle — are cut.

Weeks 2–3 — sewing and structure. The bodice and corsetry are built first (this is what gives a custom gown its fit and support), then the skirt, lace application and details like detachable sleeves or a detachable train.

Final days — finishing. Hemming, scalloped lace edges, buttons or corset lacing, a full quality check, steaming and careful packing.

When should you order your custom wedding dress?

We recommend ordering at least one month before your wedding. That leaves comfortable room for production, shipping, and any small final adjustments with a local seamstress if you want them. Ordering for a quinceañera? The same advice applies — start at least a month ahead, especially in spring and summer.

What if my wedding is sooner?

Contact us through the FAQ page or the contact form before ordering. Simpler designs and accessories can often be made faster, and we will always tell you honestly what is possible — we would rather be straight with you than promise a date we cannot keep.
